KPRA crackdown on non-compliant taxpayers

PESHAWAR: To enhance tax compliance and deter evasion, the KPRA, under the guidance of DG Fouzia Iqbal, intensified its crackdown on non-compliant businesses in Peshawar. A team from KPRA Peshawar, led by Assistant Collectors Khalid Mansoor, Roohullah Khan, Shahnawaz Khan, Muhammad Imran Khan, and supported by Inspector Muhammad Afzal Abid, and Auditors Hadi Hussain Bangash and Sikandar Hayat, raided a restaurant in Peshawar Saddar Cantonment and seized its records. This action is part of a province-wide crackdown on non-compliant taxpayers, initiated under the directives of DG KPRA, Fouzia Iqbal.

The restaurant had been previously notified to submit its records but failed to comply, prompting the raid. Fouzia Iqbal emphasized that tax evasion would not be tolerated and warned non-compliant taxpayers to cooperate with KPRA to avoid legal actions, including record confiscation, bank account attachment, and business sealing. She urged all registered persons to settle their tax liabilities promptly to prevent stringent measures.
